The light alloy wheels are manufactured in a complex flow forging / forming process. By rolling out and compressing the aluminum, they are not only high-strength, but also up to 19% lighter on the front axle and up to 17% lighter on the rear axle than an original wheel. In terms of driving dynamics, the weight reduction reduces the tendency of the wheel to jump, which increases the grip when cornering and braking. This leads to noticeably more driving safety, because a wheel in the air cannot brake or provide lateral guidance due to a lack of ground contact. The lower tendency of the wheel to jump and the associated booming noise also significantly reduces the driving noise. In particular on poor road surfaces, the lower unsprung mass ensures more grip and a noticeable improvement in driving comfort.
